Lüsner Alm (Alpe di Luson)
The Lüsner Alm (Alpe di Luson) is a wide high-alpine pasture above the village of Lüsen in South Tyrol, lying at roughly 1,800 to 2,100 metres between the Villnöss valley and the Plose. Its gently rolling meadows, dotted with larches and small mountain huts such as the Kreuzwiesenalm and the Rastnerhütte, make it one of the most open and scenic plateaus in the region. From the ridge there are sweeping views of the Peitlerkofel (Sass de Putia) and the Geisler peaks to the south and the glaciated Zillertal Alps to the north. In summer the plateau is a popular destination for hikers and mountain bikers, and small lakes like the Glittner See add to its appeal.
